Just Google free dating sites. Or put an ad in your local paper with your email or chat i.d. / This way you can chat before deciding to meet in a public place for a coffee or something. ( I recommend setting up a chat i.d. and new email just for this purpose, never give out your private email or phone info )

My husband and I met on a dating site. Unfortunately I don't think it exists any more americansingles.com anyway you are going to find "stupid crap" on all sites! The most important thing to look for is a site that you choose either "just here for a role in the hay" or "here for a serious relationship"! Most of the people that are there to act immature will choose the first option, so u have a better chance of finding less perverts! Biggest advice! Communicate for months on pc and phone before meeting face to face and never meet up in a private place. Make sure there are other people around. I made my husband meet me at my dad's lol

I think the first thing you need to do when dating someone new is be yourself. Because if your not yourself and your date finds you interesting, they didn't find you interesting, they found your act interesting and you don't want to be with someone that you have to put up and act so that they like you. Other than that some rules may include, being on time, and i think getting to know each other honestly.

I want to join a dating site but am afraid of what's out there. I would like to meet a quality person for a long term relationship. Any suggestions on ones you'd recommend? Am in Los Angeles if that makes a difference. I had put up a nice one on Craigslist but got some immature responses.
